Summer Pack Trip Survival Skills: Get the Horses Trail Ready
>p>
Join us as we escape the heat of the valleys and work on getting ourselves and the horses ready for our upcoming summer pack trip in the Utah backcountry. We set out horseback riding to explore one of favorite areas to enjoy the cooler temperatures and views.
There is something special about heading into the backcountry with nothing but the trail ahead of you. We spent the day navigating the diverse landscape, moving from the quiet, dense forests out into the open, rolling hills. It is a great way to put some miles on the horses and see how they handle the transition between shaded paths and the bright, expansive meadows along the creeks.
Exploring these Utah trails remains one of our favorite ways to disconnect. We always enjoy the scenery and the chance to test our gear and our horses in such a beautiful, remote setting.
Do you prefer riding through the deep forest or open meadows? Let us know your favorite type of terrain in the comments below.
