I took a 88 year old Wildcamping – It didn’t end well! Vintage Film Photography in the Lake District
>p>
We headed out into the heart of the Lake District for a wild camping night on High Rigg—three friends, heavy packs, and one very optimistic addition to my gear: an old folding Zeiss Ikonta 515/2 Medium Format camera.
The anticipation was as large as the 6×9 film negatives…
The plan was simple: hike up to the summit of High Rigg, enjoy the views, and capture some timeless analog shots on film. The reality? Well, the Lakes gave us great views, but the camera gave us… basically nothing.
Luckily, the digital Canon M6 ii was on hand on bail us out, ensuring the trip wasn’t a total fail.
This video is a look at our trip, the struggle of carrying vintage gear up a mountain, and the (mostly failed) results of the photoshoot. If you’ve ever had a piece of gear fail on you in the middle of nowhere, this one is for you.
